What GNU Radio Does
GNU Radio provides a library of software signal processing blocks that can be connected to build software defined radios. Custom processing blocks can easily be developed making it ideal for research and engineering. These are connected to create models of signal processing steps. The models can be fed digital data from radio simulators or real hardware.
Using GNU Radio
GNU Radio is installed and run on a local computer. It is multi-platform and the project provides installation packages for many flavors of Linux, MacOS and Windows.
The main tool is the GNU Radio Companion (GRC). It is a visual editing environment for building and running flowgraphs.
