Amateur Repeaters

Repeaters are ubiquitous in the amateur world. Usually operating in the VHF and UHF bands, a repeater allows for wide-area (even worldwide) communications on the ham bands. When looking up repeaters to use, check the "Use" to ensure the repeater is "Open" for public use.

Remember that repeaters are almost entirely privately owned and maintained. Many are "Open" which means anyone is welcome to use them. Others are for private, business or official use and they will be listed as "Closed" or "Private". These are usually owned by a club, business or government organization and reserved for their exclusive use. Please respect their wishes.
